IATA, the trade association for the world's airlines, expects the airline industry's global debt could rise to $550 billion by the end of this year.

IATA CEO Alexandre de Juniac explained that, due to governments' COVID-19 interventions, the airline industry was blocked from operating as an economic sector. Therefore, it would be appropriate to ask governments to help revive the industry.
