Many, though, were concerned the film would incite real-world violence, and theaters were warned about credible shooting threats.
The NYPD stationed officers at some theaters, and in Aurora, Colorado the film wasn’t even shown due to a mass shooting before a 2012 screening of The Dark Knight Rises that left 12 dead and 70 wounded.
