The artwork in question was a golden toilet said to be worth some seven billion won and meant to mock the excessiveness of American culture. When asked if the thieves might melt it down for the gold, officials said that such an idea was not out of the question. The toilet had previously been on display at the Guggenheim Museum, where museum-goers queued for hours for a chance to answer nature's call.
