[Video} Samsung Installs Momentous New LED Displays at One Times Square New York
Times Square, New York's top landmark, has changed its mood with Samsung's smart LED signage.
Earlier this month, Samsung Electronics announced that it had replaced Samsung's Smart LED signboard with the "One Times Square" building's exterior wall display located in Times Square.
"One Times Square" is a 21-meter-high 25-story building and is also famous for its "countdown" events and filming locations for movies and dramas to celebrate the New Year. It is also the most iconic landmark in Times Square, with the highest advertising cost.
The One Times Square electronic display consists of a total of four screens and covers an area of about 1,081 square meters. Samsung Electronics received the most attention by installing three existing screens, which are located from the bottom to the middle, into one.
The product used here is 'XPS080', which allows users to see clear images in broad daylight with 8mm of dense LED pixel spacing and industry-leading brightness of 9,000 knots, and has undergone rigorous reliability tests to ensure stable performance even in harsh outdoor environments.
"More than 100 million people experience Samsung's cutting-edge LED signage at Times Square in New York, which is called the center of global culture and commerce," said Kim Seok-ki, vice president of Samsung Electronics' video display business.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics had supplied large-scale signage to the outer walls of major buildings in Times Square, including the "Sunglass Hut Times Square" in 2016, the "Flexjiographic Inc." in 2017 and the "Two Times Square" in 2018.
