사르디니아의 한 해변에서 약 40킬로그램의 모래를 훔쳤다는 이유로 두 명의 프랑스 관광객들이 곤경에 빠져 있다. 이런 좀도둑질의 경우 그 커플은 6년 동안 교도소에 머물 수 있다.
도난당한 모래에 대한 이슈는 그 지역을 수년 동안 파괴해 왔다. 그리고 당국은 자연 또는 인공의 유형 중 어느 하나가 더 이상 침식되는 것을 막기 위해 단속을 시작했다.
