The world's largest e-commerce retailer, Amazon, has announced plans to donate unsold items to charity.
The program will go into effect next month and will be the default option for all sellers that choose to dispose of unsold products held in Amazon warehouses. However, sellers can elect to opt out if they choose.
The move comes amid reports that Amazon routinely discards unsold inventory amounting to some 3 million items last year in just France alone.
