As China and several Southeast Asian countries continue to refuse the world's refuse, Japan has put forth a solution. Tokyo has allocated nearly 19 million dollars for a public-private consortium that will develop proposals and bid on waste management projects. 

With several waste-to-power plant projects already in place across the 10 ASEAN member states, Japan hopes to corner the waste management market there before China. 

Japan seeks that its expertise in the lucrative field will help it to fulfill its goals.

중국과 몇몇 동남아 국가들이 세계의 거절을 계속 거부하자 일본은 해결책을 내놓았다. 일본은 제안서를 개발하고 폐기물 관리 프로젝트에 입찰할 민관 컨소시엄에 거의 1,900만 달러를 배정했다. 

아세안 10개 회원국 전체에 걸쳐 이미 여러 개의 폐기물 처리 플랜트 프로젝트가 진행되고 있는 가운데, 일본은 중국보다 먼저 그곳의 폐기물 관리 시장을 코너로 만들기를 희망하고 있다. 

일본은 수익성 있는 분야에 대한 전문지식이 목표를 달성하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
