Regarding the timeframe, Trump said that a so-called “all in one” denuclearization is preferred over one done in phases. He did, however, acknowledge that an upfront dismantling may not be possible due to certain physical reasons.
Despite this, the New York Times reports that Trump’s remarks have, “opened the door to a phased dismantling” of North Korea’s nuclear weapons program.
