Kicking off in London, 16 teams from unrecognized nations, independence-seeking regions, minority communities and various diasporas will play for the title.

Together, these 16 teams represent 334 million people around the world. The regions include Tibet, Northern Cyprus, Padania and Cascadia.

One team will play as United Koreans of Japan, with players who descended from Koreans who migrated to Japan before Korea split into north and south.

The tournament is sponsored by a bookmaker and will be streamed online.
