Last November, Paris councillors voted almost unanimously to axe the ferris wheel which sits on the Place de la Concorde near the Louvre museum.
It has been popular with tourists, attracting 300,000 to 400,000 visitors a year, because you can get a full view of Paris at a glance.
However, the Paris City Council decided not to renew the Ferris wheel business because it says the carnival-like nature of ride clashes with the history and symbolism of the area.

지난 11월, 파리 의회 의원들은 거의 만장 일치로 루브르 박물관 근처의 콩코드 광장에 앉아 있는 페라리 바퀴에 투표했다.
파리는 관광객들에게 인기가 많아서, 일년에 30만명에서 40만명의 방문객들이 방문한다. 왜냐하면 파리를 한눈에 볼 수 있기 때문이다.
하지만 파리 시 의회는 이 관람 차 사업을 재개하지 않기로 결정했다. 왜냐하면 이 자동차의 타는 것과 같은 본성이 이 지역의 역사와 상징과 충돌하기 때문이다.
